The sharing economy -- Sosuke Fukushima

In Japan, I sometimes used sharing service called "Merukari", which allows you to buy and sell used goods freely like "Trade Me" in NZ. Actually, the demand for sharing services is increasing year by year in my country. Therefore, that will be significantly common to make money with it instead of working as part-time like selling hand-made products or pictures in the future.

Uber is often cited as a representative example of a sharing service. One big advantage of Uber has financial benefits, because it's obviously cheaper than taxies. For instance, in every country I've visited before, Uber often offers reasonable price, which is cheaper about 30% than the taxi. Having said that, there's downside of Uber. It's about safety. When you ride on the car Uber provides, some people can't feel at home, because they aren't employed company.

The app I've never used before called "Door Dush". it's food delivery service like "Uber Eats".

I honestly keen to try home caring services. Especially for the students, staying at someone's house sounds like exciting experience for me and don't have to pay for rent!

To my way of thinking, these services gonna be more common and closer to our lives. One of my concern is company allow any peole to utilize for obusiness and cause some accidents by ignorant people having little driving experiences.

  1. Hello, Sosuke, have you ever had some difficulties while using the “Merukari” application?

    1. We buy and sell all products online so sometimes they have some default or strain on them ,which is really annoying!

  2. Thank you for sharing your experience. Interesting to hear how it is in Japan. I would enjoy to earn a little extra money by selling ceramics or printed T-shirts. Please let me know how it goes if you ever stay at someones couch for free.

  3. Regarding couch surfing, this is an app my daughter has tried. She has met some really wonderful people through using this app, but on the other hand she was sometimes threatened and harassed by the residents whose home she was staying at for free. If you are going to use this app, I would advise caution. You need to carefully check reviews and it is no doubt safer to couch surf with a friend.
