Heights & Depths: A Response -- New

 In my opinion, it is important that humankind pushes the limit either up to the stars or downwards to the ocean floor because this reminds people of the saying that “everything is possible”.  For example, in the past, traveling to the space or to the moon is unrealistic.  However, Musk shows that in order to pursue his ambitions, he established SpaceX and made Space traveling is possible for some groups of people nowadays.

In terms of the benefits that people can get from these 2 explorations.  For the space, I think that it is possible for humans to discover new places to live or discover necessary resources that humans need to survive such as water or food because nowadays the Global warming issue has already showed that we experience severe weather more often or in the future, humans could face a lack of vital resources to survive.  In addition, for the ocean discovery, we can discover new species of marine wildlife or plants that could help humans to adapt to survive in the new environment.  For example, marine scientists may discover how to make human to survive in both under the water and on land in the future because most parts of the world are water.  Hence, this could change everything for the future generations to survive.  Therefore, I believe that it is important to encourage young generations to make further study about the earth in order to both satisfy their curiosities and make the world a better place to live.

    Thank your for reminding me of long- and short-term benefits of both space and deep sea exploration, especially related to global warming. Very good points. I also enjoy your perspective on human curiosity and scientific advancements. The picture fits the topic perfectly *.* did you find it on the internet or did you make it somehow? Do you like sci-fy movies? I agree that both are important if you would be a scientist which one would you prefer to explore?

      Thank you, Iza😊. I actually found a picture online that perfectly fits both themes. I also love sci-fy movies and do you like sci-fy movies as well? Well, if I were a scientist, I would like to explore into the space because the most important reason is I am afraid of deep water😂 and I think going to space and be able to feel zero-gravity seems fascinating and intriguing.

I enjoyed Nancy Longnecker's lecture because I could relate to her and the subject on many levels. The way she was conveying the content seemed casual, and I appreciated her humor. I feel like one of the main points she tried to bring across was that science communication is its own field and cannot be equated with just being a scientist who knows how to communicate. According to her, this way of thinking might have led to the programme being let go for a period of time before it was reinstated. Science communication can aid in conveying scientific findings to the general public and can really benefit the everyday lives of people. The points that resonated the most with me were closely related to marketing and psychology. 'A Response to Professor Nancy Longnecker's Talk -- Sosuke Fukushima

Regarding Nancy Longnecker’s talk, I found it is really imperative that whether others have concern or not is revealed after listening to their thoughts or values and respecting their point of view, because basically we all have different backgrounds and perspectives. For example, I've met a lot of people who have different ways of walking through this studying abroad, but if I judged books by their covers, I definitely couldn't belong in any communities and wouldn't make friends in NZ.  In terms of communication in the future, I think it's likely to be bleak because of the indistinguishable footage or images generated by AI.  I think the fine line between real and fake is getting thinner and thinner these days and it will be completely impossible to tell them from apart in a decade.
